Breuil and Cervinia: ready, set… Go!

It it time for ski season at Plateau Rosà

Lifts open weekends 18th-19th and 25th-26th October; from the 1st November lifts open every day. The ski season gets underway early here at the foot of the Matterhorn.

Its tradition, Breuil-Cervinia re-opens in October: weekends 18th-19th and 25th-26th October and then every day from the 1st November to the 3rd May 2015. It inaugurates the winter season in Aosta Valley, and is also the last resort to close.

The Plateau Rosà glacier is in great condition, ready to welcome our guests that can’t wait the first day of the ski season. The glacier can be reached in just half an hour with the lifts from Breuil-Cervinia; 23 km of slopes and guaranteed great skiing all year long thanks to the altitude (3,500 metres) over which the ski area “Cervino Ski Paradise” develops.

The Swiss ski area this weekend will open with the skilifts Plateau Rosà I, II, III, Grenzlift and Plateau Breithorn from 9.00am to 2.00pm, the first lift from Breuil-Cervinia to the glacier is at 8.10.

Non-skiers also can take advantage of the opening of the lifts to take a trip to Plateau Rosà. At the arrival station of the cable car you can visit the highest situated museum in Europe, “A Mountain of Work”, dedicated to the history of the lift systems, and don’t miss the viewing platform to admire all the 4,000 metre peaks of Aosta Valley, from the Matterhorn to Mt Blanc and Gran Paradiso, and the Swiss peaks of the Vallese region, and also the peaks of the nearby Piedmont region.

Take a stopover at the intermediate stations to enjoy the autumn colours; Plan Maison and Cime Bianche offer numerous walking trails (all signposted). The price of the daily international ski pass is € 52,00.
