An emblematic figure. Who is she?
Our slow tour through the Oltrepò Pavese starts from Voghera!
In 1996, due to a television survey about the comprehension of specific language used on TV, it has been created the myth of The Housewife of Voghera: this social group resulted being the most uninformed one, so it became the emblem of simple – mindedness and with a low cultural upbringing.
In Piazza del Duomo in Voghera (a really wonderful square, with wonderful colonnades, but unfortunately full of cars), I met Paola Zanin, the President of Housewives of Voghera association. She is the perfect housewife, very attached to the traditional family values and an expert in shopping!
