Cinque Terre: Monterosso
Between the sea and the hills
At Cinque Terre National Park, we visit the town Monterosso. The Marine Protected Area gladly welcomes boats, but wild anchorage is discourage or even forbidden, to protect the environment.
At the harbour you are struck by the enormous statue of Neptune guarding the gulf and stunned by the landscape set between sea and hills. We visit the house that belonged to Eugenio Montale, famous Italian poet who wrote his most beautiful poems here.
