A special kind of peppers that you can taste in Oltrepò Pavese
The social vegetable gardens of Voghera use traditional farming methods, according to the seasons. Here you can buy locally produced products, such as the famous Voghera pepper.
A special kind of peppers growing in Oltrepò Pavese, extremely digestible and delicious. They are small, squared, at first green and then yellow when they ripes. Their pulp is sweet and quite dry, so they are perfect to be preserved in oil or vinegar, and this made them easily transportable by merchants along the Way of Salt. During 50s a disease wiped out most of them, but now their cultivation is increasing again.
